Available to order NOW!
Was the orphan boy adopted by George III and Queen Charlotte really the king's secret son?
The author of this new book believes he was.
In 1765 a four-year-old orphan boy is bundled into a carriage with a woman he does not know. He is taken to the royal palace at Richmond to be a playmate for three-year-old Prince George, son of King George III.
His name is Frederick Blomberg, but what is his secret connection to the King?
Prince George and Master Frederick tells the true story of the enduring friendship between two boys, one a future king, the other an adopted son who craves the royal life. As Frederick grows up, the true nature of his relationship with the Royal Family, and the secret behind his adoption, unfolds.
Through meticulous research and vivid imagination, Rosalind Freeborn delivers a novel that not only entertains but reveals the identity of an important figure within the Georgian Royal Family who has been
‘hiding in plain sight’ for centuries.
Prince George & Master Frederick
provides a historical revelation that will captivate lovers of British history and royal intrigue.

Prologue
Extract from a diary story in The London Gazette, 15th June 1765
The curious tale of an apparition delivering a message from beyond the grave has reached our ears.
According to our source, two English officers based in the Caribbean in 1764 had retired to their shared
barracks when a shadowy figure entered the room.
Colonel Stewart shouted out in anger at the surprise appearance of his fellow officer, Major Blomberg.
Speaking in a grave voice, the figure confirmed his identity, adding that he had died,
and had an urgent instruction for his commanding officer.
He bade him seek out the orphan child of his secret marriage and convey news of his son’s whereabouts to King George III.
The apparition then disappeared.
Searching the barracks, no trace of the officer could be found.
The following day, after much ribbing from colleagues about the amount of port enjoyed at dinner,
a message arrived from an adjoining island confirming that Major Blomberg had died during a battle with the French,
just at the time of his appearance in the officers’ room.

Below, you can see me signing books at a spectacular book launch on publication day, 30th January 2025, at St Giles' Church, Cripplegate.
This beautiful, medieval church is one of the oldest in the City of London and a significant location in my book.
